HELLO! I'M MARISA SWITZER, and just like you i was a corporate dropout who left to pursue starting a brand with a mission.
IF YOU LOOKED BACK ON MY LIFE, YOU’D FIND 12-YEAR-OLD ME LINING THE WALLS OF MY BEDROOM WITH MAGAZINE PAGES, INSPIRED BY BOTH THE EDITORIAL DESIGN & INCREDIBLE CREATIVITY OF THE FASHION INDUSTRY. I GREW UP WATCHING KELL ON EARTH, THE RACHEL ZOE PROJECT, PROJECT RUNWAY, & MORE, COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL I COULD GET A 'REAL FASHION JOB' IN NEW YORK.
I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO START WORKING IN THAT INDUSTRY AT THE AGE OF 15. from there, i was able to experience SO MANY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES & JOBS WITHIN THE INDUSTRY. BUT IN 2014, I found myself sitting at a desk, at my dream job at one of the biggest fashion magazine publishers in new york, and i felt completely unfulfilled. I wasn't serving anyone, i wasn't helping anyone & i wanted my career to have so much more meaning.
TO DATE, RISE HAS SERVED OVER 150 E-COMMERCE BRANDS IN BUILDING A STRATEGIC, AND INTENTIONAL BRAND THAT CONNECTS WITH THE HEART OF THEIR TARGET CONSUMERS, WHILE UNIQUELY POSITIONING THEM TO STAND OUT IN THEIR INDUSTRY.
from 2010 - 2016: i had the pleasure of working in pr & marketing at launchmetrics, starworks group, hearst publications, & nineteenth amendment.
