Do’s & Don’t of Designing a Timeless Brand

How long do you want your brand to last?

One thing we pride ourselves on is giving you a solid foundation of research & positioning to LEAD your industry, and designs that will LAST for 5-10 years to come. While leaning into trends occasionally is okay, the foundations of your brand should stand the test of time.

What is a timeless brand anyway?

A brand designed to outlast the tests of time. When trends come & go, you won’t be left feeling like you need to rebrand to keep up with the times because your brand was built to thrive both in the present & future.

01. Don’t lean too hard into trends

It’s okay to have some secondary marks or even fonts that are relevant currently, but the foundations of your brand shouldn’t be dictated by trends.

02. Choose a designer that gives you multiple ways to use your branding.

For our client Laud, we knew that the mission of her brand itself was to outlast trends, so we wanted to give her branding to match - using modern, minimal typography, with secondary assets that pop.

03. Steer clear of too many customized or wing ding letters.

Psychologically our brains view strong corners and form as structurally sound and subconsciously represent the strength to withstand.

04. Make sure your branding package includes clear brand guidelines & a variety of file formats.

Brand guidelines are created to show you how to use your designs through every touchpoint that your customer comes in contact with, and the file formats you receive should support those extensive assets.
