Is Your Brand Experience Elevating or Lowering Your Product’s Value?
We live in a beautifully visual world—and whether we realize it or not, the way we visually experience a product shapes how we feel about it.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how our brand experience—our visuals, our website, our packaging—can either build trust in our product... or slowly chip away at it, even if what we’re selling is incredible.
And this thought hit me during the most ordinary moment.
The Moment That Made Me Stop and Think
I stumbled across a capsule wardrobe brand the other day, and instantly, I was drawn in. Their clothing was stunning—on-trend silhouettes, minimal, elevated. The kind of pieces that make you want to click “add to cart” immediately.
But when I went to their website… everything changed.
The branding felt outdated. The site was clunky. And that seamless, elevated feeling I had just moments before? It disappeared.
I found myself wondering: If they haven’t put the time & intention into creating their brand experience, how much time and intention are they putting into creating their physical product?
I know that might sound harsh, but it was an honest reaction. And I don’t think I’m the only one who’s had it.
Your Brand Experience Is Part of the Product
As a brand strategist and designer, I see this often—products that are beautiful and well-made, but hidden behind a brand experience that doesn’t reflect their value.
And I say this with so much love: your customer doesn’t separate the two.
To them, your visual identity, your website, your customer journey—it all is the product. It’s the preview. It’s the trust builder (or trust breaker). It’s the reason they lean in, or the reason they walk away.
This Isn’t About Perfection—It’s About Alignment
If this hits a nerve, I get it. It’s not always easy to build a brand that feels like a true reflection of the quality you offer—especially when you’re focused on creating, producing, and running a business.
But when you invest in aligning your visual brand with your product’s value, everything clicks into place. Your audience not only sees the quality—they feel it. And that’s what builds confidence and connection.
A Few Gentle Questions to Ask Yourself:
Does my brand look like the quality I know I’m delivering?
Would someone experiencing my website or packaging feel excited to invest—or a little hesitant?
Am I unintentionally lowering the perceived value of what I’ve worked so hard to create?
It’s Not Too Late to Uplevel
The good news? You don’t have to overhaul everything overnight. Small, strategic changes can make a big impact.
But if you know you’re ready for a shift—one that brings your vision and your visuals into full alignment—I’d love to help.
